- Connect Gmail / Google Workspace
On this page
Connect a Gmail or Google Workspace mailbox with Google sign-in. Prosyo sends your email steps from it and syncs replies into your Inbox. You don't need a password or any server settings.
Who can connect one#
- Multichannel: 1 Gmail/Outlook account included
- Agency / Team: 1 Gmail/Outlook account per billed seat
- Any paid plan with an extra LinkedIn/email seat
Starter doesn't include Gmail/Outlook. You can still use a custom SMTP/IMAP mailbox during your trial.
Gmail/Outlook needs a Multichannel or Agency / Team plan, or an extra LinkedIn/email seat. See plans.
Connect#
- Go to Settings → Accounts.
- In the Gmail / Outlook card, click Connect account, then choose Google in the connection window.
- Sign in with the Google account you want to send from.
- Review the permissions and click Allow. Prosyo needs to send email and read replies to your campaign threads.
- You're returned to Prosyo. The mailbox shows Healthy.
Error: "Access blocked" or "This app is blocked by your admin"#
Google Workspace admins can restrict which third-party apps can access company mailboxes. If yours does, Google shows an error such as:
- Access blocked: [app name] is not approved by your organization
- This app is blocked. This app tried to access sensitive info in your Google Account. To keep your account safe, Google blocked this access.
- Error 400: admin_policy_enforced
Note the app name and Client ID in the error message. Your admin needs them. Click error details on the Google screen if the Client ID isn't shown.
What your Google Workspace admin does#
- Sign in to the Google Admin console at https://admin.google.com.
- Go to Security → Access and data control → API controls.
- Click Manage third-party app access.
- Click Add app → OAuth App Name Or Client ID.
- Search for the Client ID from the error message, then select the app.
- Choose who it applies to (the whole organization, or the sales team's organizational unit).
- Set access to Trusted, then click Finish.
- Wait a few minutes, then try Connect account → Google in Prosyo again.
Copy this section into an email to your IT team, along with a screenshot of the error.
Error: "Google hasn't verified this app"#
Click Advanced, then Go to [app name]. Only do this when you started the connection from Settings → Accounts in Prosyo.
Good habits#
- Warm up a new Gmail mailbox gradually: start near 25 emails per day.
- Set up SPF, DKIM and DMARC for your domain. Google Workspace admins can find DKIM under Apps → Google Workspace → Gmail → Authenticate email.
- Don't send the same campaign from your main company mailbox if you can use a secondary domain.
Disconnect#
On Settings → Accounts, click Disconnect next to the mailbox. Campaigns that use it pause until you choose another email account. You can also remove access from Google at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.
