Every connection request sends people to your profile. A strong profile can make a big difference to acceptance and reply rates, before you change a single message. Do this once, before you launch.
The 10-minute profile checklist#
| Element | Weak | Strong |
|---|---|---|
| Photo | Logo, group photo, no photo | Clear, friendly headshot, face filling most of the frame |
| Banner | LinkedIn default blue | One line on who you help + proof. For example: "Helping B2B SaaS teams book 20+ demos a month · 150+ customers" |
| Headline | "CEO at Acme" | "Helping [who] [achieve what] without [pain] · Founder @ Acme" |
| About | A career history | Problem → who you help → how → proof → call to action |
| Featured | Empty | A case study, a 2-minute demo video, a free resource or your booking link |
| Experience | Job titles only | 2–3 lines on the outcomes you deliver for customers |
| Activity | Nothing for months | At least one post or a few thoughtful comments a week |
| Custom URL | linkedin.com/in/john-smith-83a9b2 | linkedin.com/in/johnsmith |

If [problem] is on your radar, send me a message or grab 15 minutes here: [link]Match your profile to your campaign#
Your profile should confirm what your message says. If your invite note says "I help SaaS sales teams with outbound", your headline and banner should say the same.
Running outreach for several offers? Create a campaign per offer, but keep one clear positioning on the profile.
Stay active while campaigns run#
LinkedIn favors real, active members, and so do prospects who check your profile.
- Post 1–3 times a week: lessons from calls, customer stories, opinions on your niche.
- Comment on your prospects' posts. Use a Like recent post step so your name is familiar before the invite.
- Accept incoming invitations and reply to messages outside campaigns too.
Every post also builds a warm list: import the people who engage with it. See the post engagement playbook.
For teams and agencies#
- Each sender connects their own LinkedIn account. See Team seats.
- Align headlines and banners across the team so prospects see one consistent story.
- Newer or quieter profiles should start on the Cautious preset. See LinkedIn limits explained.
