| Element | Question | 3 means |
|---|---|---|
| Metrics | What measurable gain does the buyer expect? | Number agreed with the buyer |
| Economic buyer | Who signs and controls the budget? | Met them; they confirmed the priority |
| Decision criteria | What will they judge options on? | Written or stated criteria we influenced |
| Decision process | What steps lead to a decision? | Steps, people and dates mapped with the champion |
| Paper process | What happens from "yes" to signature? | Legal, security, procurement steps and timing known |
| Identify pain | What problem, how bad, why now? | Pain with impact in their words and a reason for now |
| Champion | Who sells for us internally, with power? | Tested: they took an action that cost them effort |
| Competition | What else are they considering, including doing nothing? | Named alternatives and why we win |
0 unknown, 1 assumed, 2 partial evidence, 3 confirmed. Read references/meddicc-scorecard.md for scoring evidence examples and stage minimums.
For each score, note the evidence and the source (call date, email). Anything without evidence is scored 1 at most.
Commit-stage deals usually need 2+ on every element and 3 on pain, champion and economic buyer. A deal below the minimum for its stage should move back a stage or out of the forecast.
The weakest element on the critical path to signature, usually economic buyer, paper process or champion. One gap, one owner, one date.
Exact questions to ask next, phrased for the buyer, plus who should ask them.

Scorecard: M x | EB x | DC x | DP x | PP x | IP x | C x | Comp x (total /24)
Confirmed: <evidence list> Assumed: <list>
Stage check: meets / below minimum for <stage>
Biggest gap: <element> - risk - action - owner - date

| Element | 1 (assumed) | 2 (partial) | 3 (confirmed) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Metrics | "They want to save time" | "Close takes 9 days, they’d like it faster" | "They target a 5-day close by Q3; each day saved is worth ~$40k" (stated by buyer) |
| Economic buyer | "Probably the CFO" | Champion named the CFO as approver | Met the CFO; she confirmed this is a Q3 priority |
| Decision criteria | Guessing from the RFP | Champion listed criteria verbally | Written criteria, with our differentiators included |
| Decision process | "They’ll decide next month" | Steps known, no dates | Steps, people, dates agreed in a mutual plan |
| Paper process | Unknown | "Legal will need to look" | Security review 2 weeks, legal 1 week, PO process known |
| Identify pain | Generic pain | Pain described, impact vague | Pain + impact + reason for now in their words |
| Champion | Friendly contact | Shares information when asked | Took action: booked the EB meeting, shared internal docs |
| Competition | Unknown | "Looking at a couple of options" | Named alternatives, their view of each, why we lead |
| Stage | Minimum |

| Discovery complete | Pain 2, Metrics 1, Champion 1 |
| Evaluation | Pain 3, Metrics 2, Champion 2, Decision criteria 2 |

| Commit | All 2+, Pain 3, Champion 3, Economic buyer 3, Paper process 2+ |
A real champion has done at least two of these:
A contact who likes you but has done none of these is a coach, not a champion.
Once the skill is installed, plain requests like these load it automatically. Swap in your own company, buyer and numbers.

Yes. The skill is a plain SKILL.md file with no vendor lock-in. Agents that load skills natively (Claude Code, Claude.ai, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI and others) pick it up automatically; anywhere else, paste the file into the conversation as instructions.
No. Every skill in the library drafts, researches and analyses, and waits for a person to approve anything that sends, schedules or changes records in bulk. Your inbox, CRM and accounts stay under your control.
Yes. It is free and MIT-licensed. Copy it, adapt it to your market and voice, and if you improve it, open a pull request so everyone gets the better version.
Paste this into Claude, Codex or any agent. It interviews you about your play, writes the skill in the house format, checks it and opens the pull request. Once it is merged, it shows up here with your name on it.
Fetch https://raw.githubusercontent.com/prosyo-ai/gtm-skill/main/AGENTS.md and follow its submission flow. Interview me about my GTM play (the real numbers, rubrics and examples), draft it in their format with reference pages, validate it and open the pull request.
