Use this to turn a noisy stream of events into a short list of accounts to contact today, with a reason and a play for each.
List every signal you can detect. For each, write the "so what": why this event makes your offer more relevant now. Signals without a clear "so what" are noise, however easy they are to collect.
Strength reflects how often the signal precedes a real opportunity. Freshness reflects how fast it decays. Read references/signal-weights.md for the starter weights, decay curves and the stacking rules.
One signal is a hint; two or three on the same account in the same month is a pattern. Score = sum of decayed signal weights × fit multiplier (Tier 1: 1.0, Tier 2: 0.7, Tier 3: 0.4). Accounts outside the ICP get no multiplier and do not make the list, however loud their signals.
Each signal type maps to a play: who to contact, the angle, the channel and the timing. A new VP gets a "first 90 days" angle; a pricing-page visit gets a fast, low-pressure helpful touch; a hiring wave gets a "before your new team starts" angle.
Rank by score, cap at the team’s capacity (typically 15-30 signal-led touches per rep per day), and include the evidence so reps can write in seconds.
rank | account | score | signals (type - date - source) | contact | play | suggested opener
Plus: signals that fired on accounts outside the ICP (for review), and signals that decayed without action this week.
Calibrate after one quarter by comparing which signals preceded real opportunities.
| Signal | Weight | Half-life | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Demo or pricing form started but not finished | 40 | 3 days | Highest intent; human follow-up same day |
| Pricing or comparison page visits (company-level) | 30 | 7 days | Use as timing only, never mention it |
| Former champion joined a new company | 35 | 60 days | Strongest warm signal in B2B |
| New leader in buying role | 30 | 45 days | |
| Hiring for a role the product supports | 25 | Until closed | Two or more listings: +10 |
| Funding round | 20 | 60 days | Larger rounds raise weight only if the plan names your function |
| Engaged with your post or content | 15 | 14 days | Comment > like |
| Third-party category intent | 15 | 14 days | Noisy; treat as tie-breaker |
| Technology added or removed | 15 | 60 days | Strong if it is a complement or a competitor |
| Event attendance or speaking | 10 | 14 days | |
| Expansion news: office, region, product | 15 | 60 days | |
| Negative news: layoffs, bad quarter | 10 | 30 days | Changes the angle to efficiency |
Decay: weight × 0.5^(days since signal ÷ half-life).
| Signal | Who | Angle | Channel | Timing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| New leader | The leader | First-90-days priorities | LinkedIn then email | Days 14-45 in seat |
| Hiring wave | Hiring manager | Help the new team ramp | Within 7 days of the listing | |
| Funding | Founder or functional VP | The growth plan’s bottleneck | Weeks 2-6 after news | |
| Former champion moved | The champion | Reconnect, no pitch | LinkedIn message | Days 30-60 in new job |
| High-intent page visits | Likely buyer at the account | Helpful resource for the problem | Within 24 hours | |
| Content engagement | The person | Continue the conversation | Within 48 hours |
| Signal | Accounts with signal | Opportunities in 90 days | Rate | Keep weight? |
|---|
Raise the weight of any signal converting at 2x the average, cut any converting below the average.

Yes. The skill is a plain SKILL.md file with no vendor lock-in. Agents that load skills natively (Claude Code, Claude.ai, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI and others) pick it up automatically; anywhere else, paste the file into the conversation as instructions.
No. Every skill in the library drafts, researches and analyses, and waits for a person to approve anything that sends, schedules or changes records in bulk. Your inbox, CRM and accounts stay under your control.
Yes. It is free and MIT-licensed. Copy it, adapt it to your market and voice, and if you improve it, open a pull request so everyone gets the better version.
Paste this into Claude, Codex or any agent. It interviews you about your play, writes the skill in the house format, checks it and opens the pull request. Once it is merged, it shows up here with your name on it.
