@Clay read the “SaaS Q4” table, pick the 15 best fits for my ideal customer and write a first line for each from their signals. Keep it under 25 words.

  1. Reads the Clay table you named
  2. Picks the rows that best fit your ideal customer
  3. Uses each row’s signals, such as funding, hiring or tech stack
  4. Writes one opening line per person in your tone
  5. Saves each line to your campaign messages

The guide

Clay is brilliant at collecting signals: who raised money, who is hiring, what tools a company runs. The hard part comes after. Somebody has to turn those columns into a sentence a person would want to read, for every row, and get it into the sequence. The Writer does that step. It reads your Clay table, picks the people who fit your ideal customer, and writes one opening line per person from their own signals.

Why signals need a writer

A column that says “Hiring 4 SDRs” is a fact, not a message. Templates that drop it into a sentence read like templates: “I noticed you are hiring 4 SDRs”. The Writer uses the signal the way a good rep would, as a reason to talk, in your tone and inside your never-say rules. The result is a line that sounds like it came from someone who looked.

What the agent does

It reads the table you name through your Clay connection. It compares the rows with your ideal customer and picks the best fits. For each person it writes a single opening line from their signals and profile, then adds it to the LinkedIn and email messages your campaign already sends. If a row has nothing worth mentioning, it writes from the profile instead or tells you which rows it skipped.

Set it up

  1. Connect Clay.
  2. Set your offer, tone and the words to avoid once for the workspace.
  3. Start from the Writer template and tick Clay as an app it may use.
  4. Run it with the table name and any extra rules, such as a word limit.

Tips

  • Tell the agent which columns matter most. “Lead with funding, then hiring” gives more consistent lines.
  • Read ten lines before launch. If one misses, add a rule to the brief and run again.
  • Keep the rest of the message short. A strong first line works best with a clear, simple ask.

You stay in control

Writer Agent asks before it acts

You choose how much it does alone. Reading and research always run straight away; anything that sends, spends or changes another app waits as a card you approve, unless you allowed it.

  • Ask before every stepIt asks before every step, unless you allowed that action to run on its own.
  • Ask before any changeIt reads and researches freely, then brings every change back to you.
  • Handle routine work aloneSaving people, tagging and preparing drafts run on their own. Sending, paid actions and other apps still wait.

Does this replace Clay?

No. Clay keeps doing the enrichment you built there. The Writer turns that data into the opening line of a real message, inside the sequence that sends it.

What if a Clay row has no useful signal?

The agent writes from the person’s profile instead, or tells you which rows it skipped.

Can I edit the lines?

Yes. Writing sends nothing. Read and edit any line before you launch.

When does it run?

Whenever you like, or when you ask Penny in chat. If it becomes a weekly habit, put it on a schedule instead and it runs on its own.

Which apps does it use, and do I need accounts?

It uses Clay, with one-click sign-in. Each app works with your own access, so the agent only sees what your account can see, and anything an app charges for is billed by that app.

Can the agent act without my approval?

Reading and research run straight away. Routine work such as saving people to a list or tagging can run alone if you allow it. Sending, paid actions and changes in other apps wait for your yes unless you explicitly allowed that action.

What does a run cost?

Each step uses AI credits like a Penny question, and you set a spending cap for each run. If a run reaches its cap, it waits for you. Paid actions such as enrichment, and charges from connected apps, are separate.

Can I change what the agent does?

Yes, in plain words. Edit the brief, attach a skill such as your own playbook, tick or untick apps and change what needs approval. The next run follows the new instructions, and finished work stays saved.

Which agent runs it, and what pairs well with it?

The Writer Agent, Prosyo’s ai personalization agent. Start from its template and use this request as the brief. It pairs well with the Reply Agent and the Qualifier Agent, which can pick up its results through your lists and inbox.

How do I see what the agent did?

Every run comes with a plain-English report of what it did, what it cost and anything waiting for you. Results show as formatted answers, tables or diagrams, and you get a notification when a run finishes or needs your approval.

Which Prosyo plan do I need?

Agents come with the Penny Agents, Penny SDR and Penny SDR All-in plans: 5, 10 or 20 agents. Every workspace starts with a 7-day free trial, no card required.
