What good looks like

  • The buyer replies to your comment, or likes it, before you ever send a request.
  • Comments would be useful to any reader of the post, not only the author.
  • The common mistake is "Great insights, thanks for sharing!" on 50 posts a day, which builds nothing and looks automated.

What you bring

  • Topics you know well
  • Time per day

Use this to warm up Tier 1 buyers before outreach. A few thoughtful comments on a buyer’s posts over two weeks make your later connection request familiar rather than cold.

Inputs

  • Target buyers (and whether they post), plus the industry voices they engage with.
  • Topics the commenter can speak to with real experience.
  • Time available: 15-30 minutes a day is enough.

The play

1. Build the watch list

  • Buyers who post: comment on their posts directly.
  • Buyers who don’t post: find the voices and communities they engage with; comment there, where they read.
  • 20-40 people on the list at a time.

2. Write comments that add something

Comment typeExample
Add an insight"We saw the same thing; the twist for us was that approvals, not accounting, drove the delay."
Add a number or example"One team I work with went from 9 days to 4 by adding a day-3 cut-off."
Ask a sharp question"Did the 6-day close hold through quarter end, or does that need a different playbook?"
Respectful disagreement"Agree on the goal, but in our experience the tool came last, not first."

Two to four sentences. No pitch, no links, no "Great post!".

3. Keep a rhythm

Per day: 5-10 comments, mostly on target buyers’ content and the voices they follow. Reply to replies on your comments within a few hours; those threads are where real conversations start.

4. Convert to connection

After two or three meaningful interactions, send a connection request that references the thread. Then the first message continues the topic.

Rules

  • MUST add a genuine insight, example or question in each comment.
  • MUST draw only on the commenter’s real experience.
  • NEVER pitch or link to your product in a comment on someone else’s post.
  • NEVER automate comments.

Example prompts

  • "Set up a 2-week comment plan to warm up these 15 CFOs before outreach."
  • "Write a thoughtful comment on this post from a VP Sales about SDR ramp."
  • "Which voices do heads of RevOps follow, so I can show up there?"

What does the LinkedIn comment strategy skill do?

Use this to warm up Tier 1 buyers before outreach. A few thoughtful comments on a buyer's posts over two weeks make your later connection request familiar rather than cold. You get: who to follow, daily routine, comment drafts.

When should I use the linkedin comment strategy skill?

Use it when you want to use LinkedIn comments to get noticed by target buyers before reaching out.

How do I install LinkedIn comment strategy in Claude Code?

Run /plugin marketplace add prosyo-ai/gtm-skill and then /plugin install gtm-skills@prosyo to add the whole library, or run npx skills add prosyo-ai/gtm-skill –skill linkedin-comment-strategy for this skill alone. In Claude.ai, download the .zip from this page and upload it under Settings, Capabilities, Skills.

What do I need to give the agent?

Have these ready: target accounts and buyers, topics you know well, time per day. If something is missing, the skill tells the agent to ask for it rather than guess.

Does it work with ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor or Gemini?

Yes. The skill is a plain SKILL.md file with no vendor lock-in. Agents that load skills natively (Claude Code, Claude.ai, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI and others) pick it up automatically; anywhere else, paste the file into the conversation as instructions.

Will it send emails or messages on its own?

No. Every skill in the library drafts, researches and analyses, and waits for a person to approve anything that sends, schedules or changes records in bulk. Your inbox, CRM and accounts stay under your control.

Is it free, and can I change it?

Yes. It is free and MIT-licensed. Copy it, adapt it to your market and voice, and if you improve it, open a pull request so everyone gets the better version.

Have a play that works? Share it as a skill.

Paste this into Claude, Codex or any agent. It interviews you about your play, writes the skill in the house format, checks it and opens the pull request. Once it is merged, it shows up here with your name on it.
