# Playbook: Event and post engagement

| At a glance | |
|---|---|
| **Best for** | Anyone active on LinkedIn |
| **Goal** | Warm conversations |
| **Channels** | LinkedIn |
| **Plan** | Any |
| **Setup time** | About 20 minutes |

People who comment on a post have already shown interest in the topic. That makes the first message easy.

## Good posts to mine

- Your own posts, especially ones that got a lot of comments
- Posts by industry voices on the problem you solve
- Event and webinar announcement posts
- Competitor posts (keep your tone respectful)

## 1. Import the engagers

1. Copy the post URL.
2. Go to **Prospects**, click **Import** and open the **Post comments** tab.
3. Under **Import from**, choose **Comments** (warmest) or **Reactions** (bigger list), then paste the URL into **LinkedIn post URL**.
4. Under **Add to list**, use a list named after the post, for example *"Post – RevOps hiring thread"*, and click **Import**.

Or save the commenters straight from the post with the [Chrome extension](https://prosyo.com/docs/integrations/chrome-extension.md).

## 2. Sequence

| # | Step | Copy |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Visit profile | — |
| 2 | Connection request | `Hi {{first_name|there}}, saw your comment on [author]'s post about [topic]. Good point. Would be great to connect.` |
| 3 | If accepted (wait 7 days) → end if not | — |
| 4 | LinkedIn message | `Thanks for connecting! Your take on [topic] stuck with me. How are you handling it at {{company_name|your team}}?` |
| 5 | Delay 96 hours | — |
| 6 | LinkedIn message | `We put together a short guide on [topic] based on 50+ teams. Want me to send it over?` |

Mention the post in the invite. It's the reason you're reaching out, and it lifts acceptance.

## 3. Limits

On **Sending & safety**, use the **Recommended** preset and turn on **Cancel an invitation if not accepted till** with 7 days, the same as the wait in step 3.

## Metrics to watch

| Metric | Typical for engagers |
|---|---|
| Acceptance | Higher than cold lists, often 35%+ |
| Reply rate | Often 12%+ |

## Common mistakes

- **Pretending to be a fan.** Only mention a post you actually read.
- **Importing reactions from huge viral posts.** Very broad audiences reply less. Prefer comments on niche posts.
- **Competitor bashing.** Keep it about the topic, not the author.

## Variations

| Variation | Change |
|---|---|
| **Your own post** | "Thanks for commenting on my post about [topic]" converts best |
| **Event post** | "Saw you're heading to [event]. Would be great to meet there." |
| **Question post** | Reply to their comment's point directly in message 1 |
