# Playbook: Job-change outreach

**Reach buyers in their first 90 days in a new role, when they're most open to new tools.**

**Best for:** B2B SaaS, agencies, consultants · **Plan:** any · **Setup time:** about 20 minutes · **Channels:** LinkedIn (+ email on a plan with a mailbox, such as Multichannel)

## Why it works

New leaders are expected to make changes. In their first months they:

- review the tools and vendors they inherited,
- have budget and a mandate to show early wins,
- haven't been pitched to death in the new role yet.

A congratulations message is also one of the most natural reasons to start a conversation on LinkedIn.

## 1. Build the list

**Option A: Sales Navigator (easiest)**

1. Build a lead search with your ICP filters (title, seniority, industry, headcount, region).
2. Add the filter **Changed jobs in the past 90 days**.
3. Copy the URL. In **Prospects**, click **Import**, open the **Sales Navigator** tab and import it into a list called *"Job changers – [month]"*.

**Option B: Your champions who moved**

Past customers or users who changed companies are the warmest leads you can find. Export them from your CRM with their new company and their old one. Create a custom field `previous_company` in **Settings → Custom fields**, then [import the CSV](https://prosyo.com/docs/prospects/import-csv-excel.md) and map the old company to it.

**Option C: Automatic**

If you use a job-change tracking tool, such as Clay, send new job changers to Prosyo with a [custom trigger](https://prosyo.com/docs/integrations/custom-triggers.md).

## 2. Enrich

In **Prospects**, filter to the list, select everyone and run **Enrich with AI → Write personalized line** (2 credits each). Under **Personalization source**, choose **Custom prompt** and use this prompt:

> Write one sentence congratulating them on the new role at their new company. Mention the company or the role, never both clichés "exciting" and "journey". Under 18 words.

## 3. Sequence

| # | Step | Timing |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Visit profile | Day 0 |
| 2 | Like recent post | Day 0 (skipped if none) |
| 3 | Delay 24 hours | |
| 4 | Connection request | Day 1 |
| 5 | If accepted (wait 7 days) → end if not | |
| 6 | LinkedIn message 1 | After accept |
| 7 | Delay 5 days | |
| 8 | LinkedIn message 2 | |
| 9 | Delay 7 days | |
| 10 | LinkedIn message 3 | |

### Copy

**Connection request**

```
Congrats on the new role at {{company_name|the new company}}, {{first_name|there}}! Would be great to connect.
```

**Message 1: congratulate, no pitch**

```
Thanks for connecting, {{first_name|there}}. {{personalized_message|Congrats again on the move.}}
Curious: what's the first thing you're looking to change in your first 90 days?
```

**Message 2: offer something useful**

```
{{first_name|Hi}}, most new {{title|leaders}} I talk to spend their first quarter auditing how pipeline gets built.
We put together a 1-page "first 90 days" checklist for exactly that. Want me to send it?
```

**Message 3: soft close**

```
Last one from me, {{first_name|there}}. If rebuilding outbound is on your 90-day list, happy to show you what's worked for teams like {{company_name|yours}}: {{calendar_link}}
Either way, good luck with the new role!
```

### Champion version (past customers who moved)

```
{{first_name|Hey}}! Saw you've moved to {{company_name|a new company}}, congrats. Loved working with you at {{custom.previous_company|your last company}}.
Would it be useful to set up what we did there for the new team?
```

## 4. Settings

- Limits: **Recommended**
- **Cancel an invitation if not accepted till:** on, **7 days**, the same as the wait in step 5
- **Turn off remaining steps when they reply:** **on**
- Import new job changers **every week**. Timing is the whole point.

## What to expect

Job-change lists are usually smaller but warmer than cold lists. Track acceptance and reply rates in [Reports](https://prosyo.com/docs/campaigns/monitor-reports.md) and compare them with your standard ICP campaign.

## Share this playbook

The three-message congratulate → help → soft-close pattern works for any team. Copy the templates into **Settings → Templates** so everyone on the team uses them.

## Common mistakes

- **Pitching in the congratulations.** Let the first touch be genuinely about them.
- **Waiting too long.** After about 6 months, the "new role" angle no longer works.
- **Ignoring past champions.** They already trust you. Reach them first.
